Shayla and Owen’s second chance love story in The Kissing Part by Kylie Gilmore, book one in her Happy Endings in Clover Park series, a second generation series with grown up kids of previous characters who've all had their happily ever after. So not only do we get new characters to fall in love with, we get to catch up with previous favorites who are now older and have raised their kids to adulthood. First up is Owen Campbell, son of famous actress Claire Jordan and her husband, Jake. Owen loved Shayla years ago, when he was seventeen and she was only sixteen; and way too young. Shayla left Clover Park and Owen for a big movie role and Owen hasn't seen her since. Now, because of a stalker, she needs a bodyguard. Owen is not happy to say the least that his mother has enlisted his help with this, but once he finds out what's going on, he can't help but jump in to protect Shayla. When real feelings get involved, he's afraid of being hurt by her again, while she just wants his love. With so much time having passed since these two have spent any real time together, they may need to go back and start over; as long as their feelings stop getting in the way. Except, Shayla's stalker has just been waiting for the right moment to move in. Hopefully help will arrive in time to stop him. This story will take you on a roller coaster ride of true love and second chances. I highly recommend The Kissing Part to other reader and look forward to the next book in the series.
