Review of Playing Dirty in Alaska by Samanthe Beck

Image
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bush pilot Bridget Shanahan and Archer Ellison III get a second chance in Playing Dirty in Alaska   by Samanthe Beck, book two in the Captivity, Alaska series, is an emotional story of grief and loss, family and relationships, friendships, secrets, power and control, and love. The foundation is emotional, tragic and compelling; the romance is spirited and fated; the characters are sassy, broken, and energetic.   Bridget and Archer end up going through many situations, family drama, and misunderstandings before they find their way back to each other. Ms. Beck created a captivating story that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, witty banter, and endearing characters giving Bridget and Archer the happily ever after that they deserved . I recommend Playing Dirty in Alaska   to other readers.

Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon

πŸŒžπŸŒžπŸŒžπŸŒž Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon, book one in her Fortunes of Lost Lake series.  Ari and Russell are the most lovable characters; separately and together they are true magic. They were friendly coworkers until they decided to scheme to make their work environment more bearable by nudging their divorced, argumentative bosses together; setting up Ari and Russell to notice each other as more than coworkers and friends. Ari, a weather reporter, struggles with depression and feelings of inadequacy stemming from her childhood and her mother’s refusal to deal with her own depression. Russell, a large, overweight sports reporter, who became a dad as a teen, hasn’t dated since separating from his daughter’s mother; which has been years. While they each had baggage and issues to deal with before they could successfully work as a couple, they were quite clever about bringing their bosses together; trying to rekindle their love and marriage. Their main objective was to improve the wor

The Marvelous Monroe Girls by Shirley Jump

⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Marvelous Monroe Girls by Shirley Jump, book one in her Fortunes of Lost Lake series, is about family, friendship, and love that take place in the charming small town of Harbor Cove. Sisters Gabby, Margaret, and Emma were once inseparable and are now drifting apart in adulthood . After their mother unexpectedly passed away, their grandmother helped raise the sisters. Worried about their grandmother's odd behavior, Gabby tries to bring the sisters back together. Helping Gabby search the attic for a vintage dress, the sisters stumble upon letters to Dear Amelia, an advice column possibly written by their grandmother. Together they decide to use this as a way to get their grandmother out of her funk and feel needed again by working together behind the scenes, making sure her advice plays out. It’s also a way Gabby can ignore the problems in her life; a life that seems to be crumbling around her. As she ropes her childhood best friend, Jake, into her plans these two navig

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Every time I read a book by Jill Shalvis I am in love with the characters she creates and The Family You Make is no exception. This is the first book in her new Sunrise Cove series which takes place near Lake Tahoe. It is exemplifies Shalvis’ sense of humor, the personalities she gifts unto her characters, allowing the reader to connect with each of them. This wonderful story is a reminder that family is not necessarily the one you are born into, but formed of the love and support of people you surround yourself with; creating your own family.   This is an amazing story about how the past, family, and friends can affect our present and how hard it is to open up and faith in others again; even love again. We follow two couples: Levi and Jane and Mateo and Charlotte, with Levi and Jane's initial encounter being a few hours of wondering if they are going to see the next morning. Both couples are perfect for each other, they just have to overcome personal past issues

Only One Mistake by Natasha Madison

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I thoroughly enjoyed Michael and Jillian’s amazing story in Only One Mistake by Natasha Madison, book six in her Only One series; a surprise pregnancy that is sizzling, funny, sexy, and swoony. After a bad experience with his NHL coach, Michael Horton has been traded to Dallas, to play on the same team as his cousin, Cooper, and hopefully get the fresh start to his career; one he badly needs. On his first night in town he meets a woman who has just been stood up by a blind date. Jillian Williams didn’t even want to go on the date, but was talked into it. While her night looked like it was going to be an absolute disaster, she ended up being rescued by Michael. The two of them share drinks, non-stop conversation, discover a spark of chemistry and after a night of passion that neither of them will ever forget, they go their separate ways. Miscommunication is prevalent in this book and it led to some interesting situations. When these two unexpectedly reconnect months later,
