Checking the Center - Sparks, Laughs, & Love

Image
💖💖💖💖💖 /5 I loved Drea and Rock’s love story in Checking the Center by Delancey Stewart, a fast paced novella introducing her new Zamboni Diaries series, a prequel to introduce you to all things Wilcox Wombats. Rock Stevens, the center for the Wilcox Wombats hockey team, has returned to his hometown for an all star appearance at a pickle ball tournament. Andrea (Drea) Coppersmith works at a local bakery with dreams of attending culinary school. Coming home late one evening Drea finds the duplex she rents has been invaded by Rock. The problem is that the duplex is really Rock’s and his aunt somehow had a mix-up and rented Drea the same unit. Sharing a small duplex with only one bed quickly leads to so much more; from accidental roommates, to finding a forever love, in only a week. If you are a sports romance fan, you will love this humorous, heartfelt, steamy read.  I highly recommend Checking the Center and look forward to the next story in this series.   I voluntarily rev

Best Man Next Door by Stefanie London

💖💖💖💖💖 /5 I have only read Best Man Next Door by Stefanie London , a novella within the anthology Suddenly This Summer by Susan Mallery, Synithia Williams, and Stefanie London. Sage Nielsen and Jamie Hackett grew up next door to each other and when they were in high school and Sage had quite the crush on Jamie. Sage was a very shy, nerdy girl while Jamie was one of the few people consistently nice to her. Jamie was a popular jock who was on his way to a professional career in tennis. Sage was bullied by the school’s mean girls and her only outlet was her sewing. When they left high school, Jamie pursued tennis and Sage went to Paris to work for a fashion house making wedding dresses. Since then, both have dealt with their dreams being derailed.   Sage and Jamie are both back in their hometown for the wedding of Jamie’s best friend and Sage’s sister; giving them a chance to reconnect and finally give in to the attraction they have for each other. Now they will have to figure out

Image
Kimberly Kincaid has revealed the cover for Sizzle! Releasing February 23, 2024 Sam Faurier is in deep trouble.   Which normally wouldn't be a problem for an elite firefighter with razor-sharp instincts and cocky bravado to spare. Except this time, his impulsive decision on a call got fellow firefighter, Lucy de Costa, into hot water, too.   Did he mention that he's had an unrequited crush on her for years? Or that she's the battalion chief's by-the-book daughter?    Or that the call that got them both benched was actually arson, only Sam can't prove it without help?   Lucy de Costa doesn't break the rules, and she sure as hell doesn't catch feelings for other firefighters. She's worked way too hard to make her way up the ranks for that, no matter how sexy Sam Faurier's smile is--or how hot his determination.   He's convinced there's an arsonist on the loose. Trouble is, she's the only one who believes him. And she's going to have t

Home for the Challah Days

Image
💖💖💖💖 /5 Home for the Challah Days by Jennifer Wilck is a second chance, finding your true self romance that is heartwarming and will brightens your spirits.  Sarah Abrams returns home for the High Holy Days from her busy life in Washington DC with a lot on her mind; the biggest being whether to marry Matthew, her seemingly perfect boyfriend. Running into Aaron Isaacson was not what Sarah wanted given he was her first love and the one who broke her heart when he ended their relationship. Although, as with real life relationships, it was more a lack of communication and distance that helped tear them apart.  From the beginning, the sparks and attraction between them are evident. Though each believed they had moved on, it was obvious that the feelings they once shared were still there. They had the opportunity to repair their friendship once they cleared the air about their breakup, but did not. I liked watching them spend time together and seeing the chemistry between them but it wa

Pediatrician Arthur Fletcher, a self-confessed bachelor after a turbulent upbringing, has just returned to Singapore for his new, temporary position. From the start, the sparks fly as these two are magnetically attracted. Fletch and Madison are adorable together and their dates were creative and fun. The more time they spends together with her twins, it seems that not only is Fletch growing closer to Madison, but he is fitting seamlessly into her little family; considering putting down roots with them.   I really enjoyed reading about the characters in this story, and the connection Fletch and Madison have with each other. I also enjoyed the medical parts of this book. I highly recommend A Daddy for Her Twins to other r
