The Christmas Quilt

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

The Christmas Quilt by Lenora Worth, book three in the Shadow Lake series, is a patchwork of emotions that tug at your heart strings. There’s a little bit of almost everything in this story: humor, tears, feelings of betrayal and romance. The story takes place as the Christmas season approaches and on into Christmas week.

Colette and Matthew (Mattie) have known each other all their lives, are finally in love and planning to marry. Mattie has been out of state to helping his ill uncle. The day of Colette's sister's wedding, Mattie returns; but a young, beautiful woman is hanging onto him, saying she is to marry him. What is the world is going on? How could Matthew be so heartless to do this to Colette? Mattie attempts to explain the situation, but things only get worse, for Colette. His uncle died, leaving Mattie everything including, his ward who he wanted Matthew to marry, and Mattie might have to move to Missouri. Only Matthew wants Collette, not this other woman. What a dilemma? To help her get through this situation, Colette decides to make a quilt about Matthew.

This story was a roller coaster journey between the frustration, angst, secrets, worry, danger, and a mystery sprinkled with love and faith that G-d has a plan. This is a wonderful, heart wrenching read with interesting and caring characters. I highly recommend The Christmas Quilt to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
