The Firefighter's Dilemma by Mariah Ankenman,

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5 The Firefighter's Dilemma by Mariah Ankenman, book three in her Mile High Firefighters series, had me laughing-out loud, tears rolling down your face, while reading Stephanie and Eli’s workmates, friends to lovers, somewhat opposites attract, forced proximity romance story . There are some heavy topics that drives each of them to succeed: family, and a parental death; but do not overpower a story that is about the fun, the relationship, the attraction, and the spark.   Stephanie Diaz and Eli Ward have been coworkers as firefighters for four years. They know they can’t have feelings for each other and continue working at the same Fire Station. Then their chief decides to send them on a reality show, the Rocky Mountain “First Responders” reality competition, together with a warning that he will decide who gets the promotion they both are vying for. Eli and Stephanie were the perfect partners. They both had terrific reasons for wanting to win as a team and addition

Falling for the Amish Bad Boy by Emma Miller

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Falling for the Amish Bad Boy by Emma Miller, book two in the Amish Sisters series, is a sweet and inspirational story that is a reminder of how there is always more than one side to a story; or even gossip. Beth Koffman and her many sisters watch out for their father who is suffering from early-onset dementia. As their mother died years earlier it is up to the sisters to take care of their home and farm. Jack Lehman, a hardworking young man, was sort of going out with Beth’s boy-crazy sister who broke her heart. When their eldest sister hires Jack to build a new store for Koffman family, Beth is up in arms; believing it is disloyal to their heart-broken sister. Jack is not the person some people think he is. It turns out he really is a nice guy who has a bad reputation fueled by people who think they know his story, adding their own ideas into it, and run with it, spreading it around. It was enjoyable following Beth and Jack’s relationship. Beth has a perception of

Tempted by Her Fake FiancΓ© by Kate Hardy

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Kate Hardy’s 100th book, Tempted by Her Fake FiancΓ©, was a beautiful and heartwarming story. Elle left behind the trauma of her childhood and adolescence on her family Norfolk farm to become a PR guru in London. Charlie left the pressures of a London life after the death of his wife to recover in rural Norfolk. Charlie has become the new manager for Blue Bell Farm and he desperately needs Elle’s help and marketing skills. Elle agrees to help her parents and Charlie and thus begins the fake dating, fake relationship to sell the farm as a wedding destination. Elle was a charming character and you can sense the difficulties she encountered as a teenager. It was lovely to see her reconnect and find joy with her family home and business. Charlie has his own issues; however, Elle brings joy back into his life with her enthusiasm for the farm and its new role in the community.   Ms Hardy wrote a delightful romance filled with emotions, sweetness, and warmth that was both engagi

Down with Love by Kate Meader

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I loved reading Down with Love by Kate Meader, book one of her Laws of Attraction series, which is about sexy divorce lawyers and the women who can't decide if they should kiss them or kill them.   This story focuses on what happens when a hot-shot divorce lawyer, Max, tries to work with a high-powered wedding planner, Charlie. Max has a jaded view about marriage since he assists and advises people through their divorce and life after. Charlie is helping Max’s brother and his fiancΓ©e plan their wedding, which will occur in short time period. Plus Charlie believes in the fairy story of happiness, at least for the couples she works with.   I enjoyed how Max and Charlie were more alike than different, despite their jobs being at opposite ends of the marriage spectrum.  Charlie wanted to find love but has yet to find the one for her. When she shares a kiss with Max, both are shocked at the sparks that occur. She is determined that whatever this is between her and Max can on

The Duke's Secret Cinderella by Eva Devon

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– The Duke's Secret Cinderella by Eva Devon, book three in her Never a Wallflower series, is an enjoyable, emotional, and wonderful version of the Cinderella fairy tale with a few twists and turns I never expected. This is a Regency Cinderella story, with alterations and changes made in this retelling of a totally enjoyable story. We have a step-father for our Cinderella Charlotte instead of a step-mother and the single step-sister, Francesca, is a supportive character treating her with a lovely sisterly bond instead of a bullying villain. Rather than meeting a Prince at a ball, she meets Rafe Dorchester, the Duke of Rockford, in a shady alley; who thinks that Charlotte must be a Lady. Though Charlotte weaves quite the web of lies, for good reasons, these lies continue to drive much of the story and drama in this book.   Charlotte has been kept as a servant in her mother's house on the charity of her truly awful stepfather. Somehow, he had one of the other servant

Hot Shadows by Lynn Raye Harris

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I loved Gem and Everly’s second chance love story in Hot Shadows by Lynn Raye Harris, book six in her Hostile Operations Team: Strike Team Two series. This romantic suspense novel is the perfect combination of thrilling action and sizzling romance. The story follows Hot Operator Jackson “Gem” Stone and Everly Fairhope, a lawyer and the daughter of a powerful senator. Gem met Everly while he was on an assignment providing protection to her and a few others, from her mother’s office, overseas. They found themselves in a sticky situation that Gem and the other HOT guys were able to get them out of. After Gem returned to the states, he and Everly shared three wonderful months together, until Everly called it quits; due to a threat by her mother and her mother’s political position. Confused by the way Everly ended their relationship and news of her engaged, Gem is surprised when she comes knocking on his door looking for help. Gem’s not too happy with her request. However,

The First Classman by Tawdra Kandle

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– The First Classman by Tawdra Kandle is an emotional and charming story that will definitely tug at your heartstrings yet leave your heart filled with joy. It was serendipity how Willow and Dean first met, two strangers who met at a party. Willow and Dean meet at a party but they both have their lives planned and they agree to just one last night of fun before the summer ends. Not giving each other their last names, they discover life had other plans; providing some major surprises later on. But life has a way of interfering with one’s plans, leaving fate to play a crucial part in bringing them back together in the most unexpected of ways and drawing them into each other’s lives for a reason they would never have predicted. Despite their relationship being challenged with many conflicts, it makes for a most interesting tale; one filled with strong emotions, a bit of angst, some honest frustration with touches of anger, and the inevitable yet hard-fought hope for a HEA.

The Baby Blitz by Lex Martin

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Maggie and Olly were perfect for each other in The Baby Blitz by Lex Martin, book three in her Varsity Dads series, an enjoyable story, rich with emotion, filled with all the feels, and sweet yet sizzling in all the right places. These two just seem made for each other, though that doesn’t mean that everything was perfect; as there were numerous obstacles on their journey toward finding a happy life together.   Maggie grew up with Olly, her brother was his best friend and her friend too. And after overhearing something during their High School years, the friendship definitely ended; developing into one long series of pranks on each other. At Olly's sister’s wedding, he and Maggie agree to a truce which ends up with them spending some unexpected quality alone time together. Maggie gets pregnant and they work to make their relationship into something real. They go through so much miscommunication and between pregnancy hormones and Olly’s football schedule it really put

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Curled Up with an Earl by Amy Rose Bennett is book  two in the Byronic Book Club series. Lucy Bertram has always been shy around people, except family and best friends. Every Good Gift by Kelly Irvin

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Every Good Gift by Kelly Irvin, book three in the Amish Blessings series, is a sweet story of forgiveness, especially of oneself, generosity, grief, and faith. Maisy and Joshua's story is one of love, faith, overcoming hurts, new beginnings and hope. It’s also about repentance, accepting G-d's forgiveness, and seeking G-d's will. The Promise of Easter by Marta Perry

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– The Promise of Easter by Marta Perry , book five in her Promise Glen series , is an inspiring and heartwarming tale of forgiveness and holiday celebrations in the Amish community. Matthew King has returned home to Promise Glen after an extended absence, feeling a bit like the prodigal son with the shadow of his best friend’s death still looming over his shoulder. While most everyone welcomes him back with open arms, Anna Stoltzfus still blames him for her brother’s tragic accident. The more time they spend together, however, the more he desperately wants her forgiveness; and her love. Anna and Matthew were wonderful and caring people who had to let go of the hurts and obstacles keeping them apart. As the story progresses, those feelings and stirrings of hope that the first signs of spring as well as Easter bring; that promise of new life and restoration can be found between the lines. Not only for Matthew and Anna but also for another family hurting and in need of grace.

Arm Candy by Jessica Lemmon

Image
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I totally enjoyed reading Arm Candy by Jessica Lemmon, the second book in her new series, Real Love. This story features Davis Price and Grace Buchanan who we met in Eye Candy, the first book of the series.   Davis was jilted at the altar by a red-head and has since become a serial dater, dating only blondes. He loves his routine, has a good heart, and is a great friend.   Grace is a beautiful red-head bartender at McGeevey’s Pub, where Davis hangs out and flirts with her.   Grace has shied away from marriage after witnessing the divorce of her lawyer parents. Despite it all, Grace and Davis have a strong chemistry and need to work through their fears toward marriage and commitment. I really loved reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms. Lemmon wove a wonderful story, with lots of humor, charm and smexy.  She drew me in and did not let go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend Arm Candy to other readers and I am looking forward to the next bo

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I loved Abby and Nick’s emotional and heartwarming journey in Feel My Love by Lea Coll, book one in the Ever After series, a deeply moving, heart-wrenching, yet beautiful love story. Abby is a single mother to 8-year old Hunter and a wedding photographer, trying to balance her work schedule and her son’s sports schedule which often means she doesn’t focus on herself.
