Jock Wanted by Kate Meader

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Jock Wanted by Kate Meader, book six in the Rookie Rebels series, was an emotional, intriguing, sexy, and enjoyable hockey romance.
This magical tale features a friends with benefits relationship between Tara Becker and Hale Fitzpatrick while Tara is having a fake relationship with the rookie hotshot, Dex O’Malley, to improve his bad boy media presence. Tara has appeared as a secondary character in a few of the previous books, coming across as the typical money hungry Puck Bunny. Tara makes no secret of the fact that she aspires to be a hockey WAG, even though her friends joke with her about it. This time, Tara is metaphorically stripped bare, allowing the real Tara to be seen and exposed to the reader. There are numerous layers to her as reasons and answers are supplied; revealing the reasons behind her need to marry a rich hockey player and understanding why accessing that money is so important to her. Fitz is the General Manager for the Chicago Rebels, a professional hockey team, with his own set of baggage. When Fitz asked Tara to pretend to date one of his players to improve his party boy reputation, she jumped at the offer. The problem is that sparks fly when she is in the same room, Tara gets under Fitz’s skin, he’s older, and as the two bicker and banter, their chemistry steams up every page. As Fitz and Tara get to know each other they find a mutual attraction, off the charts chemistry and feelings that lead to a special connection. It was Fitz who got Tara to open up and learn about the hidden depths she hides behind the WAG persona. It’s Fitz who understands why Tara believes she needs to be a WAG in order to fulfill her responsibilities. It’s Fitz who tries to alleviate Tara’s debts, which she resents. It’s Fitz, who will wait for Tara, until she realizes he’s the one for her; the only one. It took a number of wrong decisions, some self realization, and some honesty for Tara to finally realize she found the one and admitted what she really wanted in Fitz.

There were so many funny, laugh-out-loud parts in this book: Tara on the ice was pretty hysterical. Enjoyed Goober and Pickle, and the special bond Fritz has with the boys club was definitely a favorites. Tara connecting with all the players and their wives, played into Fritz’s relationship with his new team. A bonus in this story is getting caught up with all the hockey players and their significant others. These teammates are truly one of the best found families around.

Ms. Meader wrote an emotional, amazing, burn the sheets, hockey romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and endearing characters giving Tara and Fitz a chance at love, and a future together. I highly Jock Wanted to other readers, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
