Rebel Heart by Brighton Walsh

 πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

I loved Levi and Harper’s story in Rebel Heart by Brighton Walsh, book six in the Starlight Cove series; a heartwarming, second chance romance full of spice, heart, longing and family. It is the final book in this series about a family keeping their mom's memory alive by sticking together and growing the inn that she loved while falling in love along the way. NOTE: there are many triggers in this story so you may want to look on the author's website for content warnings.

Levi and Harper were childhood best friends turned teenage loves who spent the last decade apart after a devastating break-up. During that time, they’ve both faced tremendous heartbreak and trauma. When Harper returns to town for an assignment, they are forced together as unlikely temporary roommates; and sparks will definitely fly.

Levi and Harper both faced challenging and difficult times since they were last together, and it was wonderful to watch as their love for one another slowly return and overcome the hurt and demons they both experienced. Watching these two open up about their pasts was perfect. When Levi shares his feelings about the past finally, the family rallies around him in such a heartwarming and individual way that fits their personalities. Harper was the perfect, comforting partner Levi needed, and Levi was Harper’s safe space.

From mutual contempt hiding long-buried, gut-wrenching affection, to finding neutral ground with much anxiety, Levi and Harper’s journey to a second chance at love was hard fought and filled with numerous hot spicy moments. As always, I loved seeing the previous couples in this book. This book had the perfect blend of funny scenes and serious topics. If you like a small town second chance romance, you came to the right place.
