Too Wrong to Be Right by Melonie Johnson

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

Hedgehogs, Cockatoos, and Kolackies, what more can one expect in the moving and wonderful love story Too Wrong to Be Right by Melonie Johnson, book two in her Sometimes in Love series. This story was the perfect combination of sweet, smexy, and laugh-out-loud moments. This story is a whirlwind of emotions, love, loss, and family. Adding in a little bit of spice, it makes for a great story that drew me in, holding me hostage until I reached the end of the story, wanting more.

Kat Kowalski, an aspiring flower shop owner, has been dumped once again, and of her two best friends and their new relationships, she creates a list of qualities she hopes to find in a potential Mr. Right. On the same day her relationship ends, she acquires a pet hedgehog and meets Mick O'Sullivan, a lovable weirdo who is trying to fit in as he works with his siblings at the family's funeral business. Following their unconventional meet-cute over a dead body, these two quickly become friends. Kat was immediately attracted to Mick, but he’s so much like her past boyfriends, that she decides his brother Joe would be a better fit for her future. Mick will do whatever he thinks will make Kat happy, even if that means stepping aside. Mick was adorable and so sweet, with his Irish roots and mismatched socks. His laidback vibe, wanting the best for both Kat and his brother, was sad and heart breaking as he stood on the sidelines hoping this would make Kat happy.

Ms. Johnson wrote a cute, fun read that had me smiling and laughing pretty much from the first page. This must read story was very entertaining, with characters that were easy to fall in love with, sizzling chemistry, and secondary characters who were just as interesting as the main characters. With so many fun moments that included Jojo the hedgehog, the colorful vocabulary of Seamus the cockatoo, and the grandmothers of Kat and Mick, adding a colorful and amusing depth to the story. I highly recommend Too Wrong to Be Right to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
