The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster - A Must Read

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Lori Foster once again displays how amazing her writing is in the wonderful, heart-warming, story in The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster, book one in her new Cemetery, Indiana series. While turning the pages I found myself falling in love with these characters, with their warm and open hearts, compassion, enthusiasm, quirkiness, and understanding. This sweet story features the love story between Yardley and Travis, but also highlights the strong friendship and support Yardley has with her best friend, Mimi and other members of the small committee. Yardley is a wedding planner in Cemetery, Indiana and she is all about delivering everyone else’s happy ever after, but not her own. She works and lives with her eccentric, unmarried mom and aunt in an old Victorian house. Travis, a contractor, raised his sister, Sheena, and is now helping her plan her wedding. Sheena is a sweetheart and is grateful for everything her brother does; even if he is attracted to Yardley. Travis is a compassionate, hot hunk. Yardley and Travis hit it off from the start, with their passion for restoration to saving an abandoned puppy. This was a slow-burn, low drama romance, as Travis didn’t want to move forward until after the wedding of his sister’s dreams.

Yardley is unique. She is friendly with everyone in the community, but is resentful that all the businesses are required to use Cemetery in their name. Especially since the town does not have a cemetery and adding the name to her wedding planning business makes it sound more like funeral planning than happy. Determined, Yardley befriends Betty Cemetery, great-great-something-granddaughter of the town founder and chair of the town council. These two are hilarious together as their friendship grows. You can’t read this story without enjoying and laughing at the pranks the town residents plays on each other with a mannequin, named Kathleen, who is dressed and posed different ways as well as placed around town. This quirky small town sounds like so much fun; definitely a place I would enjoy living.

Ms. Foster wrote a story that was wonderful, humorous, entertaining and romantic that should definitely not be missed. This tale was full of romance, humor, family, close friends, small-town life, interesting and entertaining characters, and so much more. I could not put this book down; needing to know what was going to happen to Yardley and the cottage. I highly recommend The Honeymoon Cottage to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.
