3.5/5 - The Spy and I by Tiana Smith was a fast-paced spy rom-com with an instant-love trope. Dove works in cyber security. Somehow, she is mistaken for her twin sister, an undercover CIA agent, and ends up with her getting involved in a spy mission with her sister's CIA partner, Mendez. Together they travel around the world trying to escape the assassins after them and find a CIA double agent. There's a lot of adventure, action, spy talk, banter, and lightness despite having assassins after them. This was an easy and light read that felt more like a cozy mystery with a side of romance than a true romance book. While it was instant-love romance, there was no spice nor chemistry between Dove and Mendez. I was disappointed that it didn't have the tension or air of mystery that I was expecting.

Sage Nielsen and Jamie Hackett grew up next door to each other and when they were in high school and Sage had quite the crush on Jamie. Sage was a very shy, nerdy girl while Jamie was one of the few people consistently nice to her. Jamie was a popular jock who was on his way to a professional career in tennis.
