A Love Like You

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

A Love Like You by Kait Nolan is a sweet story a friends to lovers, forced proximity, holiday road trip small town romance: following Mick Routlege, a charming character who finds himself stuck in the friend zone with Juliette Chen, a busy nurse weighed down by family and work. Juliette is so busy that she doesn’t believe she can afford to make time for herself until Mick, her friend and neighbor, winds up with a couple of tickets to a concert of a group they both love. He persuades Juliette to accompany him, going out of his way to make sure her family and her delightful dog, Derp, are taken care of for the overnight trip. As thorough and careful as they planned for this trip, even they couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in those North Carolina mountains. When the weather turns bad, being snowed in may finally give them the nudge they need to overcome their emotional barriers. When they get back home Juliette’s world has fallen apart and  not only does Mick remind her how important she is, he takes care of her. This was an engaging story not only about family and responsibilities, but also about taking a chance at love.

A devious matchmaker, a snowstorm and a pretty inn in the mountains may just give Mick and Juliette the chance at more. This story explores themes of self-discovery, communication, and the idea that sometimes, the best love is right under your nose. A Love Like You is a heartwarming reminder that love can be found in unexpected places. I highly recommend A Love Like You to other readers.
