The Takedown

 πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

The Takedown by Carlie Walker, book two in the Vine Mess series is a and unusual romantic suspense adult rom-com, taking place over the holidays; filled with humor, wit, excitement, suspense, and romance. Everyone has secrets, but for some people, their job is a secret, and with that comes issues for family and loved ones. An undercover CIA agent, protective and loving of her family, agent goes home to try to break up her sister's impending wedding to a secret criminal mastermind. Chaos, shenanigans, and mayhem are definitely not far behind. Getting through that disaster without alienating her family is going to be a huge hurdle. Not to mention one hot bodyguard, who may or may not be who he says is he, and who is quickly becoming a distraction.

This is a fun story with some suspense/mystery elements, some crazy drama, and an 80+ grandmother you will want to be. Underneath the comedy is a beautiful story of a woman learning to be vulnerable in the best way possible. Full of heat, humor, great side characters and tons of action; I loved this slow burn, forced proximity romance and highly recommend The Takedown to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
