Sawyer by Katy Regnery
๐๐๐๐๐/5
Sawyer by Katy Regnery, book four
in the Stewarts of Skagway series, is a charming, entertaining, second-chance
romance for Sawyer and Ivy. Sawyer has lived his entire life in Skagway,
working with his family. Ivy spent her summers with her uncle and his family in
the seasonally busy town before returning to her lonely life in her wealthy father’s
home. These two were childhood friends, being together during the
summers; until one summer when they became more. Ivy has returned to help care
for her aunt who is undergoing chemotherapy after an eighteen month absence,
and she’s sporting a massive engagement ring. Sawyer is disappointed that she’s
engaged, and he really dislikes the cheater to whom she’s betrothed. When
Ivy auditions for a community theater production of Wuthering Heights, Sawyer
auditions as well. Recognizing their chemistry they are cast as Catherine and
Heathcliff.
Throughout rehearsals, fundraisers, and everyday life, Ivy
and Sawyer have the opportunity to learn more about each other and what values
they share. When Ivy's life blows sky high, Sawyer will be the one to put her
back together. Her aunt and uncle will also be there supporting her, but Sawyer
is the one who knows her best. As they spend more time
together, their feelings become woven within the scenes of the play, making Sawyer
and Ivy realize how similar their story is to the play; making their
performances very emotional.
This is another great story in the Stewarts of Skagway series;
with a wonderful and supportive family, r friends and partners. I've actually
visited Skagway, and Ms. Regnery really captures the feel of the town,
including the huge crowds who visit there from the cruise ships. This story
takes place in the off season, which provided a nice creative twist.
