Ivy’s Arches by Annie Dyer - A Must Read

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–/5

Arches by Annie Dyer, book six in the Puffin Bay series, is an amazing, heartwarming, emotional, friends-to-lovers romance featuring Gully and Iris. Gully is the writer twin, the self-assured ladies man; at least that is how outsiders see him. Iris is a skilled professional photographer and the grieving sister of Gully’s writing best friend Ivy. The friendship between them started with the shared grief of Ivy but grew and changed into so much more. The first part of this story is an exchange of old-fashioned letters: handwritten and mailed, pen pal style, back and forth between Gully and Iris. These letters allowed the reader to understand the characters, where they are emotionally and physically, and follow their journey of grief. He, along with Iris, have had a rough few years as they shared a bond and as they continue to chat over the years until their friendship turns into so much more and they finally explore the sizzling chemistry that sparks between them. The second portion has Iris and Gully connecting after she explains to him about her fertility issues, the eggs her sister Ivy provided for her, and ready to start a family. She asks Gully to provide the sperm. He agrees with the stipulation that she move to Puffin Bay as he wanted to be involved in the baby’s life. What neither has admitted is their attraction to each other or what happened one night in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

With the support of the amazing people of Puffin Bay, Gully’s brothers and their wives, and the love growing between them, they journey through IVF toward the beginning of being a true family; loving and making new memories. This book touched my heart and soul, in so many ways. I can’t wait for the next story set in Anglesey.
