Cruel North by J.B. Salisbury

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
Cruel North by J.B. Salisbury, book four in the North Brothers series, is a second-chance romance. Hayes North, the broody twin and grumpy North brother, is about to meet his match: with his long lost daughter and his lost love; the one who got away. Vanessa Osbourne was his everything until she disappeared. When a girl claiming to be his daughter shows up in New York, he is shocked to learn he has a daughter; especially when he learns who her mother is. When Haven's mother, Vanessa, comes to get her, Haven doesn't want to return to Colorado, she wants to stay in New York with her bio dad. Hayes suggests that Vanessa and Haven stay at his place for month, so he can have a chance to get to know is daughter. Vanessa reluctantly agrees but she's not going to be nice to Hayes; after all, he gave her money to "take care of" the situation. Her parents sent her to Colorado to have the baby, but when Vanessa decided to keep the baby, her parents disowned her. Fueled by anger for Hayes and her parents, she raises Haven all by herself. Now she feels betrayed by her daughter who wants to live with the dad she never knew.

Vanessa was determined to keep her teenage daughter, Haven, safe along with her own heart. However, Haven was strong-willed and had a mind of her own which turned out to be the perfect combination for this situation Hayes and Vanessa find themselves in. Seeing Hayes go from a cold, heartless boss to a charismatic, devoted lover and dad was amazing. Hearts will break and feelings will get hurt while the three of them live together in a penthouse suite in New York. Hayes and Vanessa challenged each other; whether it be the push and pull tension of their sizzling attraction or their undeniable chemistry.

If you enjoy a second chance romance with a hot hunky billionaire, a sassy single mom, an outspoken teenage daughter, New York City, reconnecting with your teenage love, seeking the truth about the past, lunch dates with the aunties, gray sweat pants, ice skating dates, supportive intrusive brothers, slow burn steamy times, and a happy ending that is even better the second time around, then you will love Hayes and Vanessa's story. I highly recommend Cruel North to other readers.
