The Spare & the Single Mom by Delancey Stewart and Marika Ray

 πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

I loved Maxine and Cav’s love story in The Spare & the Single Mom by Delancey Stewart and Marika Ray, book one in their new Royals of Sailfish Banks series, a heartwarming, hilarious and steamy romance full of lovable and engaging characters. After years of trying to get his family to allow him to step away from the royal life, Prince Cavanaugh Barclay (Cav)  defects from Mardelvia to Sailfish Banks, NC, where his Uncle Leo landed and where he hopes to start a new life. Cav and single mom Maxine Waddel meet in a funny, embarrassing way thinking they’ll never see each other again. The first thing he accomplishes is irritating Maxine, a single mom who is a waitress and unofficial contractor. Their first interactions are very funny. Though she is annoyed, Maxine needs the money she will get for heading Cav's renovation project. They start to spend time together, and one thing leads to another. As they are adults, they manage to handle the challenges that are thrown at them pretty well and set a good foundation for a committed relationship.

You will love and adore all the wonderful, hilarious, quirky characters in this charming small town. This book has all the feels & will make you laugh out loud. Bo, Max’s son, was a wonderful and integral addition to the story. Fiona, Cav’s friend from Mardelvia, also adds depth to this story, as she fails to convince Cav to return home and decides to stay herself. I highly recommend The Spare & the Single Mom to other readers and look forward to the next story in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
