Dirty Secret Love by Claudia Burgoa, book two in her Heartwood Lake Secret Billionaire series, is a sizzling and heartwarming story that pairs Sutton and River together in a fake engagement that doesn’t quite feel like pretend as they spend time together, getting to know each other. Sutton is the lonely, overworked town librarian with an annoying family and great friends; quiet but sassy when she needs to be. River and his family have a lot of secrets; as they are in some sort of witness relocation program. River is restless and not happy with his current situation; missing his old life. When Sutton asks him to be her fake fiancée he is definitely surprised. Determined to say no to the plan, River meets Sutton's mother and immediately changes his mind; feeling the need to protect Sutton from this vicious woman. What follows is the easy banter, the fun texting and the sizzling chemistry that almost effortlessly morphs into something real. Both Sutton and River have vowed not to fall in love, but with what's between them, that could prove impossible. Though Sutton keeps a part of herself secret from River, she has to learn to trust and allow herself to believe that she is worthy of everything that she desires.
