Impossible Heir for the King

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

Impossible Heir for the King by Natalie Anderson is the story of King Niko and Maia and how a mix up at a medical clinic brings them together. With the line of succession in need of legitimacy, Niko kidnaps Maia from her father’s boat to confirm the pregnancy and insists she stay and marry him. King Niko proclaims their engagement which Maia is unprepared for.  He orders that she marry him for the sake of his kingdom and child. For someone living in open waters for her entire life and working for her father, being made to wed Niko is just another form of the cage Maia wants to be free from. Her father treated her poorly and now Niko expects her to bend to his will too. These two need to open up to each other and talk about their pasts and insecurities; otherwise it will further widen the division between them. As they spend time together on Niko’s island, a beautiful retreat, they work to balance their shared need for control as they unexpectedly fall in love.

I enjoyed this story; especially how Niko redeems himself from his annoying behavior in the beginning. Maia is thrust into an interesting situation and handles herself well despite her naΓ―vetΓ©. I highly recommend Impossible Heir for the King to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
