The Live-In Temptation by Brighton Walsh, book two in the Steele Brothers of Starlight Cove series, is a wonderful, heartwarming, opposites attract, grumpy v sunshine, age gap, found family, and single dad romance.


Xander Steele, a Chicago firefighter, suddenly discovers that he is the daddy to four year old Emma; after the death of her mom. Deciding they would be better off closer to family, he moves back to her hometown of Starlight Cove; taking over as Fire Chief. Desperately in need of a nanny, Xander hires Chloe, or “Lolee", as Emma calls her. Free spirit Chloe is trying to find her footing after life has knocked her around a bit. When she hears the chief is looking for a nanny, she easily steps in; becoming Emma’s safe place. The way Chloe sees and understands Emma amazingly breathes life back into that little girl.

 

Xander is lost. He loves his little girl more than anything, but his attraction to his disastrous nanny is becoming a problem. His brothers are no help with their jokes and bets. The chemistry between Xander and Chlor sparks and sizzles. The accidental midnight meetings in the kitchen move into sharing a kiss. Whenever Chloe is overwhelmed by this grumpy man she seeks help from her girl squad who are all supportive. Earning extra money hustling bedroom accessories with the town’s resident pleasure-party planner and gossip, Mabel, also gives her a chance to get away from the fire burning in Xander’s home. When the time comes for Chloe to leave Starlight Cove and move on somewhere new, she will need to make a major decision; stay for love or leave. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
