I loved Nick and Julie's love story in The Hookup Situation by Lyra Parish, book five in the Billionaire Situation series, is a wonderful, heartwarming, emotional, compassionate, sizzling, second chance, fake relationship story.

 

Nick Banks is living a hollow existence, and everyone in his family and friend group is done with it. When he completely loses his cool in a meeting, his brother Asher banishes him from the office for weeks. He is not to return to the office until the next board meeting in November, and not before. Needing a soft space to land, he chooses to spend time in Cozy Creek with Zane, hoping he'll be received kindly by his friend. He shouldn't have worried about Zane and Autumn being happy to see him, but more nervous about seeing Julie again.

Julie Loveland needs help keeping her on again/off again ex-fiancée, Craig, away from her and believing they are truly done. When one of her friends encounters Craig in Cozy Creek, she lies to him, telling him that Julie is dating someone else. Nick has perfect timing walking into Julie’s family's 80+ year old business, Cozy Coffee and playing along when Craig walks in. They had a connection when he was there last time but then he ghosted her, so he has no problem pretending to be in a relationship with Julie. 

 

In a town where everyone knows your business, it doesn't take long for news about Nick and Julie to get around.  It was supposed to be fake but these two just look and act like they belong together; especially with the magnetic attraction pulling them together and the off the charts, sizzling chemistry; making it difficult to remember this is supposed to be fake. As the day for Nick’s return to New York approaches, they really needs to make some decisions about ending their relationship or realizing that love and a future together is in the cards for them.

 

The Hookup Situation is another amazing installment in this incredible series, filled with passion, laughs, pumpkin spice, and Lavender Lattes. It was wonderful getting to see all the previous characters and a sneak peek at who stars in the next book. I cannot wait to read Patterson's story next.
