Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey
💖💖💖💖/5
Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey, book four in her Big Shots
series, is an enjoyable opposites attract, fake dating, forced proximity,
enemies-to-lovers, sport romance with dual POV as a he falls first. Skylar is in love
with her brother’s best friend; who unfortunately has never looked at her
twice. To get his attention, she enlists NHL rookie Robbie to pose as her boyfriend;
planning to make him jealous. She brings Robbie home for her family’s annual
wilderness competition, and even schedules him, in her planner, to help her
gain some experience in the dating world. From the start, Skylar calls
him on his playboy ways which makes him want to be better for not only her, but
also himself. He was so sweet to her, as well as protective, caring and more
than willing to teach her whatever she wanted to know.
Ms Bailey wrote a fun, sizzling sports romance with
some fun competitions, a little bit of angst, visits from past characters, and
enjoyable characters. The family competitions were super entertaining; I loved
all the events and would have liked to see more people involved but it was a
lot of fun. The spice and the relationship development were good. Some of the
super uncomfortable moments and flirting made me laugh. I thought the ending
was a bit rushed, especially the romance, but overall, I enjoyed reading this
and flew through it.
