Catch and Keep by Erin Hahn
πππππ/5
Catch and Keep by Erin Hahn is a heartwarming, emotional, older brother’s best friend, single dad, friends-to-lovers romance. Maren Laughlin had her life turned upside down. Her boyfriend received the promotion she wanted and he decided on a very public proposal; her worst nightmare. She quickly escapes to the one place that brings her peace and a chance to be alone: Northern Wisconsin; where she spent summer with her family. It is there she runs into Josiah Cole, her brother’s best friend and single dad whose life has also had its bumps. Joe finished his military career and is running the resort his parents have owned as well as being the full time parent to his two children, the younger being autistic. Joe and Maren together fit like puzzle pieces. She’s the outdoors fishing expert and he’s part-time bartender and maintenance guy and together they make the family resort a place to relax and enjoy. As the two work overcoming their pasts and figure out how to handle the new chapters in their life, they must figure out if a future together is in the cards.
Joe’s adorable children added so many additional layers to the story,
making me fall in love with them just as much as Maren found herself falling
for them too. I also enjoyed the support and banter between Maren and her
friends during the few text messages where they discuss their life and
relationships. Though this book is not listed as a series this book
takes place after Maren’s best friends’ stories: Built to Last and Friends
Don’t Fall in Love. To avoid spoilers I would recommend reading those rom coms
first.
