Wanting You by Samantha Chase
I enjoyed Chloe and Tanner’s emotional ride in Wanting You by Samantha Chase, book
three in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. Chloe Donovan,
an award winning kindergarten teacher, is the quiet twin who doesn’t like to
make waves and gets along with everyone. With the town growing another
kindergarten teacher is needed. She’s excited for another teacher to join the
school but at the last minute there’s a change and when she meets the new
teacher, Tanner Westyn, who is pompous, egomaniac, and a former alpine skier,
they get off to a very rocky start, but there’s underlying tension between
them.
Tanner, a professional skier who retired while he was on top, received
his teaching certificate years ago. He decided now was the perfect time to
start his teaching career. He wants to teach fifth grade, believing it would be
an easy way to get in, but as he is late in applying for teaching jobs, the
only school that offered a position was in a small town and it is for a
kindergarten class. When he hears that the other kindergarten teacher has been
Teacher of the Year the last two years, his competitive nature kicks in. Chloe
loves her job as a kindergarten teacher; she’s passionate, shines, and it’s
something she excels at. Being a team player, Chloe offers to work with the new
teacher, but finds him arrogant, overly confident, and overbearing; so he's on
his own.
Chloe and Tanner’s journey might have started off on the wrong foot but both
are very passionate about their jobs. Chloe’s insecurities and immaturity made
communication between them difficult. It is only with family support and a
reality check that Chloe realizes how she sabotaged the growing friendship
between them. Determined to change and repair their relationship and fight for
their forever love, Chloe finds strength to become more confident and allow
Tanner back into her life, and classroom. I enjoyed seeing all their family and
friends who continue to add so much heart to this story. I am looking forward
to the next story in this series; hopefully Billie’s.
