Unbuttoning the Bachelor Doc by Deanne Anders, book one in the Nashville Midwives series, is an engaging, sweet romance between a midwife and a doctor. Mid-wife Skylar moved to Nashville for a fresh start, she immediately clashes with grumpy bachelor Dr. Jared. Both Skylar and Jared have heartbreaking back stories. Jared, staid and serious, spends too much time thinking about his difficult childhood and how it's so much better not to rely on anyone else. He tries not to spend any time thinking about the cute midwife who is continually teasing him. When an up and coming pregnant Nashville music star requests Skylar’s mid-wife services, Jared is sent along to ease the anxieties of the dad-to-be. Only problem is this country music couple are part of a reality show which will include pieces with Skylar and Jared taking care of their patient. Getting closer as they work together, Skylar just might break down Jared’s walls as he develops feelings for her and sees her in a different light.
