All's Fair in Love and War by Virginia Heath

Image
💖💖💖💖/5   All's Fair in Love and War by Virginia Heath, book one in the Miss Prentice’s Protégées series, is an opposites attract, enemies to lovers dynamic, with Georgie and Harry being at odds from the beginning. This is an enjoyable, cute, rom-com love story, filled with childish and canine hijinx and mischief. He is overwhelmed, and overworked, with his responsibilities for the Navy which that necessitate strict time management and order.  He is overwhelmed when his flighty, impulsive sister drops her near-feral children and their wayward dog at his home to care for while she gallivants off on an adventure with her...

💖💖💖💖💖 /5 Shielding the Innocent Target by Teri Reed is a breathtaking mixture of romantic suspense and unshakeable faith. It is definitely not for the faint of heart as it’s a white-knuckle rollercoaster ride where danger lurks around every corner. This book pulled me into the story, and I did not want to put it down. I really loved getting to know the characters in this book, and the mystery in this book kept me guessing. When everything was revealed it made sense, but I did not see it coming.   Paige Walsh just witnessed the murder of her boss, a federal prosecutor, along with files for a major, upcoming trial are missing; putting her life at risk. She and her son Kenny, and their dog Alsan, need to be placed into witness protection and will be escorted by Deputy US Marshal Lucas. Look on the Bright Side by Kristan Higgins - An Enjoyable Read

Image
💖💖💖💖 /5   Look on the Bright Side by Kristan Higgins is a wonderful, emotional, and captivating story that is an emotional and healing journey for Lark Smith as she gains strength and insight into overcoming the heartache life dealt her and the choices she originally made for her career path; finding a new future to embrace. In typical Higgins style this story will make you laugh out loud, tug at your heart, and find tears running down your face.   As much as I enjoyed this story, I struggled with the inclusion and background about Joy, Lark’s landlady as well as the struggles Lark’s mother, Elle, was dealing with, regarding her husband. I was unable to figure out what each added to the story; not that they took anything away. Overall I enjoyed the story, the shenanigans, the tears, the secondary characters, especially the hospital staff, and the families; both the Smiths and the Santorinis.   #NetGalley #Berkley
