The Fling by Jennifer Bernard
Jennifer Bernard created another
amazing and delightful story with The Fling,
book two in her Lake Bittersweet series. This is Conor Gault
and Emmaline Curtis’ love story; a story with an unlikely meeting at a Hawaiian
resort that sort of turns into a quick fling, a desertion, and moves on to an
unexpected second meeting in Lake Bittersweet.
Emmaline was taking a much needed vacation for the first time
ever. She meets Connor and decides to have a vacation fling. They spend a wonderful
day together and a promising night that was unexpectedly interrupted. Believing
they would never see each other again, they share things that they wouldn’t
normally. When they do meet again in Lake Bittersweet, Emmaline’s home town, it
seems their fling wasn’t over, and this second meeting was turning into
something so much more. Emmaline is quirky, loyal
to her family, friends, and town, but there is so much more to her than that.
Her devotion to her brother, Henry, is amazing; there being a huge reason for
that. Henry’s secondary story is heart wrenching but adds another layer to this
one. Conor is the son of the local celebrity, but he’s never spent much time
with him. His father’s passing allows Conor to discover who he really is and
the man his father truly was; understanding and making a connection to his
father while sifting through all the things left behind by his father. This
fling sparked much long than just one night, as the attraction between Conor
and Emmaline grew and their chemistry sizzled, Both of them have some serious
emotional issues to work through, some of them were heart breaking, before
either of them are ready for a relationship, or a forever.
Ms. Bernard wrote an
amazing, emotional, sizzling and heartwarming, story that is not to be missed.
She provided a tale rich with magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, and quirky, memorable secondary characters, helping Emmaline and Conor find a loving future together. I highly recommend The Fling to other readers and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
