Rebel Bride by Kate Meader
Rebel Bride by Kate Meader, book two in The
Chicago Players series, is a delightful hockey romance with a runaway
bride, forced proximity, and amazing family moments, that is emotional, heartbreaking, and filled sparking sizzling
chemistry. This is a spin-off
of a spin-off series, and features Hatch Kershaw the son of Theo and Elle
Kershaw (Superglutes) and Summer Landry, who worked in the front office before
running out on her wedding to Dash, one of Hatch’s teammates.
Hatch Kershaw is at
his least favorite teammate’s wedding when he spies the bride Summer Landry
climbing out a window. He usually keeps his distance from her, but he can’t
resist helping someone who is clearly in need. Summer, aka Shelby Mae, doesn’t regret not
getting married, but wishes she’d called things off sooner. She can’t figure
out is why Hatch is being so nice to her, and taking off with her to his
family’s vacation house in Saugatuck, Michigan to regroup. The more time these
two spend together, the more it becomes clear that they have a connection that
they both tried to ignore.
I adore the chemistry between Hatch and Summer.
Even when he’s trying to avoid her, it’s clear that they get under each other’s
skin. Forced proximity and their time hiding away after Summer’s wedding escape
is fantastic. It forces them to be vulnerable with each other, even when it’s
the last thing either of them wants to do. Of course, the other huge plus is
spending more time with the entire Kershaw family and hanging out in the Rebels
hockey world. I can’t wait
for the next book in this series.
