A Rookie Mistake by Laura Carter
A
Rookie Mistake by Laura Carter is a sweet sports romance,
with a forbidden love, some fake dating, conflicted feelings all wrapped up in
a football romance. There
were some heavier themes, especially regarding a terminal illness.
Kansas Harris, Sas
for her friends, is one of the newest sports agents at her father’s sports
agency firm, trying to follow in her father’s, Harris, footsteps. Her father
doubts she can do the job but she is determined to prove him wrong. Colton Quinn, was a rising star in the league,
however a dropped pass in the big game and several off field scandals, have
caused his team to be cautious about renewing his contract. He is in need of help
with his image. Sent to Texas to work with Colton, Sas tries to get to know him
better. It’s not easy, as he's a man of few words. Colton is a private person, wanting
to protect his family. Colton, Sas and Harris have differing opinions on the
best way to save his career and get him a larger contract. Add an attraction between them that is
strictly off limits, and soon they both question their priorities as to what is
most important to each of them. Full of drama and some hard and painful secrets
this sport romance was an enjoyable read. I liked the chemistry between Sas and
Colton, and their relationship with families and friends. I also loved the
setting, we got the ranch and the city life and the games, there was a little
bit of everything.
