The Marriage Pact by Kathleen Fuller
The Marriage Pact by Kathleen Fuller, book
three
of An Amish of Marigold series, is
an inspiring and heartwarming fake relationship, love,
mistakes, compassion, forgiveness, meddling families, and faith. Daisy Hershberger, from Dover, Delaware, believes she is in love with
Maynard Miller, but he’s never shown interest in her or given her any
encouragement. She decides she needs to confess her feelings to him; maybe he
will get the hint. When her when her parents catch wind of her plan, they send
her Marigold Ohio to help her cousin with her wedding plans. After arriving, she
meets their neighbor, Perry Bontrager, when she discovers her Aunt and Uncle
are not at home. Daisy quickly realizes there might be more to her visit than
she thought.
Meeting Perry, she realizes they have at least one thing in common:
their mothers are eager to see them married to someone, anyone in Perry's case,
and anyone but Maynard in Daisy's. As they work together to care for Perry's
employee, Furman Eash, they just might find they have even more in common than
they thought.
As they spend time together, they become closer, and get the idea of
fake dating. As they spend more time together, pretending to date in front of
family, the forced proximity leads to unexpected emotions. Daisy’s mind is so
preoccupied with Maynard and Perry is so set in his bachelor life that they
don’t notice they are falling in love with each other.
Ms Fuller wrote a
heartwarming romance between two deserving, compassionate people. I loved how Perry and Daisy connected over butterflies, the one thing he
was most afraid for her to find out about him. With some
unexpected twists and turns of events, and you are left with a very
entertaining story of love, faith, and new beginnings that is a pure delight to
read.
