Loving You by Jami Rogers

 πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

Loving You by Jami Rogers, book two in the Asher Family series, is an enjoyable small town, grumpy sunshine, fake relationship romance. Quinn and Miles have been aware of each other for many years, but he has avoided getting to know her because she’s only there for the summers; unconsciously protecting his heart.

Quinn, a travel influencer, has a large number of followers as well as a group of people who seem to enjoy traveling with her.  After the last single in that group of friends became engaged, they decided it was time for Quinn to find her man. Being desperate, Quinn blurted that she already had a boyfriend. She truly thought there was no harm last summer in naming Miles Asher as her boyfriend; convinced my friends from that part of my life would never meet him. Never expecting those β€œfriends” to ever be in the same town where Quinn’s grandmother, brother, and Miles lived she thought she was safe; until she wasn’t. Visiting her family and she encounters the group in the town of Lovers.

Miles, a car mechanic, just wanted to be left alone. He built an apartment for his dad on his property, one his father refused to move to, but was unsure he wanted to rent it to anyone. When Quinn asks if she could rent the place for the summer, he refused; not once, but twice. When he espies Cherry, a tourist who is obsessed with him, is back in town, he hides in his garage. Picking up on it, Quinn deals with her by telling her she, Quinn, was Miles girlfriend. Persuaded to be her fake boyfriend and letting her rent the apartment, they now had to convince the town that we are dating.

As Quinn and Miles spend time together, talking, fake dating, around others, they learn there is so much more to each other. Quinn is not all sunshine as she deals with concerns about finding her own soul mate as well as feeling like she was missing out by not spending enough time with her grandmother and brother. Miles may have come across as grumpy, but there were layers beneath. Like Quinn, he wondered when it was his turn to find his match; especially since everyone else around him already had. Miles was unable to ever deny Quinn anything that would make her happy. Soon fake is no longer fake as Quinn and Miles realize they are perfect for each other.
