If You Love Me by Helena Hunting πŸ’–πŸ’

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–/5

I loved Roman and Lexi in If You Love Me by Helena Hunting, book four in the Toronto Terror series, a wonderful, heartwarming, age-gap, spicy hockey romance that is hot, hot, hot!! Three years prior Roman and Lexi had a weekend fling that ruined them for anyone else. They didn’t exchange last names or phone numbers; making that weekend a memory to never forget. One year ago Lexi’s mother and step-father died in a boating accident, leaving her the guardian of her two half-sisters. With the encouragement of her sisters, Lexi Forrester became the first female assistant hockey coach for the Toronto Terror, at the young age of twenty-nine; having them move to Toronto. Roman Hammerstein is retiring after this season as the Toronto Terror’s long-time goalie and could not believe his eyes when he’s introduced to the new coach. She’s his Lexi, from three years ago; the one he never forgot. With a no fraternization clause, neither one could figure out a way to overcome the attraction and sizzling chemistry that was pulling them together while possibly jeopardize the entire team.

Roman was a caretaker. He wanted to help Lexi with her sisters. He would give her insights into team players. He was the β€œdad” of the team, the mentor, the one everyone turned to. No matter how strong Lexi was, she still wanted Roman; despite the issue that she is the coach and him the player on the team. When a bitter and jealous co-worker, he wanted the assistant coach position Lexi has, causes trouble by spreading rumors, Roman steps in to keep their relationship safe; without ending it,

There was so much to love in this story. The way the Bada$$ girls brought Lexi into their fold and the Terror family. The way everyone rallied around Lexi’s sisters, creating a family for them through kindness and their time. The way Lexi ended the β€œfeud” between Flip and Grace, and the hilarious reason behind it. The way this story gave me all the feels: I laughed, I cried, I smiled, I swooned. I loved the connections made between this series and the Tilton University through their siblings. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
