A Simple Scandal by Janna MacGregor, book three in her Millionaires of Mayfair series, is an amazing friends-to-lovers, second chance romance that was wonderful, heartwarming, and from the beginning to conclusion, I was absolutely invested and couldn't reach the happily ever after quickly enough.

 

Dane Ardeerton, the Duke of Pelham and Lady Grace Webster were betrothed nearly a decade ago, but parted through misunderstandings and miscommunications; though they still have feelings for each other. Dane is protective and loyal to his sisters. Since both sisters were recently married, Dane has decided it was time to take a wife and who better to help than Lady Grace, a matchmaker desperately in need of funds. Grace reluctantly agrees to help Dane find his perfect duchess but is unsure if it is a good idea for her to help him since they have history together. Dane is simply asking Grace for her help, while really wanting to recapture what they once had together. It is going to take time spent together, other young girls being introduced to Dane, and finally, some honest conversations before they can overcome what occurred in the past and realize that they are the perfect match for each other.


Ms. MacGregor wrote a beautiful story as a reminder that a family is supposed to protect and care for each other through both thick and thin, regardless of circumstances. A captivating romance with wonderful characters, sizzling chemistry, a touch of karma, a bit of a mystery, meddling by Dane’s sisters and their husbands, protective, jealousy and insecurities, that provided the venue for Dane and Grace to finally rekindle their forever love.
