Show 'em How by Jami Davenport - Bang Brothers
Show 'em How by Jami Davenport, book two in the Bang
Brothers series, is an entertaining story about total opposites who had a chance
encounter when both were in need of comfort and stress relief and now need each
other to get through the next few months in one piece.
Pro
hockey player Jakob Bang married a puck
bunny who only wanted his money, not a family. Tired of her “responsibilities”,
she left him for a new life; abandoning their kids. The night his divorce was
finalized he was playing an away game in Portland when Jakob met Gardenia/Dee,
who was also having a rough night, and they had a one night stand; believing they would never see each other
again. Then he gets traded to the Portland Icehawks and quickly needs a nanny; as
he is going on a week trip for hockey. Portland has a staff member who can work
miracles and she arranges for him to interview the best a nanny she knows. Only
the nanny who shows up is the same quirky woman he met a few months back; Gardenia.
Though his boys are basically good kids, they can also be terrors and rambunctious; having scared off the
previous nannies. Despite Dee only able
to be a nanny for three and a half months, he has no choice but to hire her. Dee
was so good with the boys, they loved her. Then there were the heartbreaking
questions the boys had at times. The way Gardenia connected with the boys and
how she always treated them with dignity and respect, even when they were being
punished, was amazing. Jakob and Dee try
to fight their growing feeling and this roller coaster romance is on a bumpy track
until Mama Bang arrives, adding some extra chaos into the mix; as Mama Bang is
determined to see her son happy and on his way to settling down with a good
women; whether he wants that or not. It will take some work, some groveling,
and even some shenanigans before Jacob can come to terms with his past and risk
his heart on a future with Dee.
