Ice Cold, Red Hot by Delancey Stewart
Ice Cold, Red Hot by Delancey Stewart, book one in the
Coldwater Firehawks Hockey series, is an emotional, young adult story following
Celeste (Cece), a grad student in psychology and Shepard (Shep), a privileged
legacy hockey player for Coldwater University. Think hockey hotness meets academic
beauty.
Cece
and Shep had a week long summer fling at the resort Cece worked at, earning
money for expenses when she started grad school. When Shep learned they would be
attending the same college he ghosted her and planned to ignore her. As fate
would have it, they not only live in the same building, but have rooms right
across from each other and he is assigned to her TA group. He adheres to his
plan to snub her and pretend he doesn’t know her, until she starts dating a
grad student; making him filled with jealousy. It is going to take more than the off charts
chemistry and magnetic attraction before these two lovebirds can find their way
back together. They will need to unpack their baggage, be honest with each
other, and learn how to cope with all the additional pressure on both of them.
I
enjoyed this opposites attract, second chance, college hockey, forbidden,
forced proximity romance. It had a good mix of sweet, spice, real life issues,
messy families, and just a touch of bad guy. I enjoyed the emotions and
feelings they shared, and I look forward to the next story in this series.
