Forbidden Fling with the Princess by Amy Andrews
Forbidden Fling with the Princess by Amy Andrews, book two in
the Royally Tempted Series, is a heartwarming royal/commoner tale about the
importance of family, duty, and making decisions that affect your future.
Her
Royal Highness, Princess Xiomara de la Rosa of Castilona, cousin to King
Octavio of Castilona, is on a mission to find the best physician to help with
the Queen’s pregnancy after being diagnosed with Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome
(TTTS). She learns that Dr Edmund (Ed) Butler is the best OB/GYN and founded
the Foetal Surgical Research Institute; thus beginning her quest to locate the
vacationing doctor. She locates the handsome and s*xy doctor relaxing on a
beach with a drink in his hand. Ed believes he is being pranked by one of his
college buddies, seeing a beautiful woman with a bodyguard standing in front of
him. It is no prank, and his life is about to change.
Ed
goes with Xio to help her cousin, but between magnetic attraction and sizzling
chemistry, a romance develops between them. Xio and Edmund are unable to truly
express how much they mean to each other; especially in public. The paparazzi has
become a problem, forcing them to keep their relationship a secret.
When Xio returns back to Castilona, Ed travels
to Africa for volunteer. It might appear their feelings no longer matter, but
they are missing one another. After completing his assignment, Ed makes a trip
to Castilona, in search of Xio. Needing closure or opening up and being honest
about their feelings, Xio and Ed need to figure out if they have a future
together and if so, where.
This
medical romance follows Royal/Commoner theme with a plausible, believable story
that could happen. Ms. Andrews does a good job of depicting scenes and
situations that make me feel like I’m right there with the characters. I
especially enjoyed the bodyguard's interaction with them, not being overbearing
as well as depicting a king and queen who were down to earth and friendly.
If
you enjoy romances, especially medical romances, will enjoy this book.
