Clear Shot by Kat Mizera, book nine in the Lauderdale Knights series, is an emotional, heartwarming, sweet marriage of convenience hockey romance.

 

Hana is smart, independent and works for a startup software company when the company suddenly closes and her green card is in danger of being taken away. She would love to stay as her hockey playing brother, her niece, and her close friends are here; but getting married to stay in the US wasn’t her first idea.

 

Aiden enjoyed his life as a hockey player, the freedom it gave him; especially after the disaster of his first marriage. He vowed to never marry again, but when he’s hears about Hana’s situation he does not want her to leave: offering her a solution; he will marry her. Aiden truly believes he can keep his feelings out of it.

 

Hana and Aiden always knew they shared a connection. Sharing a bed only intensified the chemistry between them and it wasn’t long the lines blur and feelings start to develop. However, when Hana accidently gets pregnant, Aiden reaction was quite disappointing. Granted, Aiden suffers from depression, but that was not an excuse for his lack of trust in Hana. The grand gesture Aiden performs is nice and allows Hana to hear that he loves her and will trust her. I enjoyed this well layered read;  especially between the close knit friend group, a little drama and falling in love when you least expect it. I can’t wait to see what is coming next in this series.
