The Big Skate by Elise Faber

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–/5

The Big Skate by Elise Faber, book three in the Sierra Hockey series, has a bit of comedy, drama, and a relationship of two flawed and untrusting people that starts off on completely shaky ice. There are also some bullies in this story who encounter karma in ways they wouldnโ€™t expect.

Pro hockey player Knox Adler and team trainer Ivy Pierce are drawn to each other. To fight their attraction they are snarky and toward each other. They each have a past that discourages them to seek a commitment. Knox fears he will become too much like his father, while Ivy doesnโ€™t trust men not to hurt her; focusing on her job and her young daughter.

Overhearing Ivyโ€™s conversation with her daughterโ€™s, Evie, school, Knox oversteps by following her to the school. Not pleased with the unfairness of the situation, Know steps up, supporting and defending Ivy and Evie. Knox continues to be protective of โ€œhis girlsโ€ and pushes Ivy to her limits; getting through her barriers. These two have numerous obstacles on their journey of being together, though they both work at making it work; putting in the effort to work through issues when their pasts cause some missteps

This beautiful story is filled with laughter, heart, a puppy, a kitten, a lot of glitter, a smart six-year old named Evie, and that wonderful feeling of falling in love. Knox's teammates, their ladies, and his sister provide Ivy and Evie with the companionship, family and home they need. I look forward to the next story in this series, Joeyโ€™s.
