A Cowgirl's Christmas Reunion by Cari Lynn Webb
πππππ/5
A Cowgirl's Christmas Reunion by Cari Lynn Webb, book five in the Blackwell Belles series, brings the conclusion to this multi-author venture, of sisters who have been estranged for the past decade. Willow Blackwell, the youngest of the Blackwell Belles, has felt lost and forgotten by both her feelings of guilt and the loss of her sisters, after the accident which caused their act to fall apart. She has her goals in life, one of which is not to fall in love and be hurt by loss. Nolan Elliot, a bull rider and her first love, has returned home for Christmas with his family. Willow keeps her horses at her friend’s barn, Nolan’s stepsister. When the barn burns down, Willow is forced to move her horses to Nolan's ranch. Nolan walked away years ago when Willow's mother pushed him to leave Willow and let her shine as a Blackwell Belle. As Willow's grandmother, great-uncle and mother arrive, the pressure is now on her to perform for her mother's introduction into the hall of fame; and the drama begins.
Nolan and Willow
hadn't grown up with normal Christmases, so Nolan's family totally goes all in
for the holiday. Big E and Grandma Denny, along with Nolan’s stepmother,
conspire to push these two together; reminding them why they are perfect for
each other. Having all the sisters arrive on the ranch adds chaos to the
already upheaval going on between Willow and Nolan. It might take a miracle, or
it might take some talking, or maybe even some good laughing to get the sisters
reconciled. Not everything works out the way Flora, the Belles’ mother, wants, especially
when Willow falls off a horse. Nolan is hero worthy as he makes sure that she
is okay and stays with her during her recovery.
I have loved how all
of the stories in this series have been about each sister coming to terms with
their mother's actions towards them during their touring days. Also, how they
walked away from each other after the act broke up many years before and now
the sisters are meeting again after years apart. The reunion part had some
angst, but was so sweet. I loved how the girls worked through their issues, being
there for Willow as she went through some difficult times. Willow and Nolan
were both at a crossroad about their future and needed to decide what they were
going to do with their futures. I recommend this book as well as the entire
series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of
this book.
