The Seduction by Jennifer Bernard
The Seduction by Jennifer Bernard, book four in her Lake Bittersweet series, is another amazing and delightful story with Bliss and Granger’s opposites attract story, as we return to Lake
Bittersweet for romance, a wedding, and lots of twists and turns. Bliss Gault is the youngest child of rock and roll
legend Steven Gault. They all have different mothers but managed to spend some
time at Lake Bittersweet with their father, and sometimes each other, during
the summer. When Bliss returns to Minnesota for her sister's wedding, FBI agent
Earl Granger acts as her fake bodyguard. When danger follows her back to Lake
Bittersweet, the body guard responsibilities become real. Bliss and Granger are about as opposite as night and
day. She seems flighty and irresponsible, always finding trouble, and he's all
order, spreadsheets, analysis and stoic persona, with a poker face that’s
impossible to read. But it's not long before he sees through her airhead, “Blondie”,
act and she sees beneath his impenetrable façade. Their journey is mixed up in an accidental
eavesdropping incident, an attack in an elevator and pulling Alvin out from
behind an industrial refrigerator.
This is a very emotional story that tugs on your heart. You want Granger
and Bliss to find peace and happiness but, there are obstacles to overcome
while their attraction sparks and passion builds that have them struggling at
times. Between Granger's dry wit and Bliss’ sassy humor not only were they fun
together, they understood one another in a way that no one else did. When the
danger becomes real, Bliss soon discovers that the quiet, taciturn Granger may
well be her perfect match.
Ms. Bernard wrote an
amazing, emotional, sizzling and heartfelt, story that should not be missed.
She provided a tale rich with magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, and memorable secondary characters, helping Bliss and Granger work through their obstacles before getting a loving future together. this fantastic read is the perfect addition to this series and I highly recommend
The Seduction to other readers and I can’t wait for the next book in this series, hopefully Kendra’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed a
complimentary copy of this book.
