I Could Be Yours by Helena Hunting
💖💖💖💖💖/5
I Could Be Yours by Helena Hunting, book five in the Toronto Terror series, a wonderful, heartwarming, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract romance.
Essie
Lovelock and Nate Stiles have known each other since high school, sharing a
kiss before leaving for university, after which Nate ghosted Essie. Now, six years
later, they are organizing the wedding for Nate’s brother, Tristan, and Essie’s
best friend, Rix, while managing to deal with one another without killing each
other. Nate is the all-black
wearing storm cloud of grumpiness who trains in the gym with Flip and Tristan,
and works as an engineer. Essie is a girl's girl, a make-up artist,
pink-obsessed, princess loving, sunshine and roses, eternally optimistic
romantic. These opposites argue, building tension between the as if it’s
foreplay, as the chemistry sparks and sizzle.
This is about figuring how to move forward, beyond
past trauma, and avoid allowing it to define your future; taking charge of your
life, even if you are scared.
Ms. Hunting did an outstanding job combining
hilarious scenes with sweet, emotional, and spicy moments. I loved the way she connects
her books and the familiar ties they have created, giving glimpses of their
friends, families, and their lives. I can’t wait for Connor and Dre’s story, the next book
in this series; that epilogue already left me hooked.
