One Night with You by Carrie Ann Ryan, book seven in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series, is a wonderful, emotional, and sizzling friend-to-lovers romance.

 

Event planner Claire Harlow is plagued with nightmares after a horrific encounter resulted in her being stabbed and her best friend nearly strangled by the perpetrator. Now obsessed with personal security and safety, she locks herself away in her home when she’s not working long hours; pushing away her close friend security expert Kingston Montgomery. Kingston believes that Claire is pushing him away because he failed to save her, but, he refuses to let her walk away. Unaware, the pair have had secret feelings since the day they had met, neither wanted to act on those feelings; possibly ruining a wonderful friendship. When the Montgomery cousins planned a weekend getaway, Claire and Kingston are the only two to make it to the cabin before a snowstorm hits the pass and forces the others to turn away. With the help of lots of alcohol, being tipsy, act on those feelings; taking a chance to explore what could be if they only give each other and themselves the opportunity to find out. When the weather clears enough for them to safely venture down the mountain, they’re each unsure whether to admit to deeper feelings. After a series of passionate experiences together and apart, a misunderstanding threatens to end their budding romance. Witnessing the strong loving families and friends woven throughout the story helps to give Kingston and Claire the space and support they need to figure out their relationship.

Carrie Ann Ryan has delivered a spicy sweet, page turner of a romance within the Montgomery universe. Kingston and Claire shared a connection that was both physical and emotional; supporting each other at different times. Although the road to them finding love is far from smooth it's a journey I'm glad I was able to share.
