Our Forever Moment by Elena Aitken is a love story for McCormick family matriarch, Maureen; a touching story that beautifully explores a lost love as well as the possibility of a reconnecting with a soul mate; finding a true forever love. The story jumps between the current time, the recent pass, and thirty-seven years ago.

 

Before Maureen met her ex-husband and had her boys, she had a first love, Adam Lancaster. Maureen and Adam met at the summer solstice festival, thirty-seven years ago during a summer they both spent in Cedar Springs; spending all their time together, they fall in love. When an opportunity arises for Adam, and he takes advantage of it, leaving Maureen behind. She became a single mother when her ex was having an affair, and since has dedicated her life to them. Now that they have all found their soul mates she’s happy for them, but wonders about her lost love. With the help of her son Declan they locate Adam. After these two start corresponding, they agree to meet shortly before the holidays; but she must be home for Christmas and her son’s wedding. Fate intervenes when a snowstorm and closed roads prevent Adam from reaching her as promised. Determined to make it to the inn, Adam finally arrives and confesses what really happened almost forty years ago. Meeting again might just be a moment in time, or the start of their forever moment.


Ms. Aitken blew me away with Maureen and Adam’s second chance love story; offering a beautiful, ageless, and timeless love story. Supporting character Elise is both charming and witty, Maureen’s sons and daughters along with their partners provide comic relief, support, protection, and caring. I highly recommend Our Forever Moment to other readers.
