Double Dog Dare by Tracy
Solheim, book two of her
Milwaukee Growlers Football
series is
a humorous, heart-warming, flirty, and amazing story in. Not only do we meet more of the football players on the Growlers’ team,
but we get to know a star receiver for the Growlers, a talented but lacking confidence musician,
her entitled cousin, loving grandparents, and a couple of loving dogs. After a humiliating concert performance played out in front of the world
on social media, cellist Summer Pearson has sworn off a career in music.
Forever. She’s hiding out with her grandparents in Milwaukee, licking her
wounds and preparing for a predictable, if not boring, law career; to please
her mother. The last person she needs challenging her life choices is a sexy,
dog-rescuing jock who loves his grandma as much as he loves a good dare. Especially when that same guy is dating her perfect
cousin, a local television reporter; who is also currently her roommate.
Luke Kessler is known for his amazing play on
the football field and his carefully controlled life off it. The Growlers’ wide
receiver has a strict rule of dating one carefully chosen woman each season,
then letting her down gently. After all, his game is football, not love. At
least until his dopey mutt falls for a French bulldog owned by a hot mess of a
woman; sassy, quirky, mischievous, and amazing curves have him fumbling his
best-laid plans.
This fun, flirty sports romance written by Ms. Solheim, will have you
laughing, crying, sighing, and cheering in the end-zone. There are doggy hi-jinks,
senior citizens shenanigans, steamy ax-throwing, locker room bromances, multi-talented
football players, steamy private cello performances, and all the feels as Luke
and Summer take a bumpy journey, discovering they are worthy of love and a happy
ending. Luke’s relationship with his grandmother was sweet and his
relationship with his siblings was a nice surprise. Summer’s grandparent’s
story was both sweet and poignant, as was her relationship and love for them. I highly recommend Double Dog Dare to other readers and
look forward to the next book in the series.
