Ryder and Penny are two people who have had missing or incompetent parents.  On the other hand, they never let anyone down and work hard to take care of their family members. Ms. Shalvis excels when she writes a family series; delivering on heart, humor and honest emotion . The way she writes sibling relationships with their drama and their love for each other is charming, beautiful, and delightful; immediately drawing me in and making me invested in and caring cared about all of the characters and excited for their books.
