I loved Grace and Caine's story in Mine to
Keep by Natasha Madison, book eight in the
Southern Wedding series; a grumpy/sunshine, single dad, age-gap,
office romance. Grace is leaving the ranch, moving to a new city for a fresh start, and to
return to school; at least as much as she can with Casey as her grandfather. Her
first job is as an assistant to Caine. Single dad Caineโs perfect assistant is
ready for retirement, leaving him in a bind. Heโs trying very hard not to be
selfish, but he needs a new assistant yesterday. Fortunately his family has
already taken care of the vacancy. From day one, the two clash: Caine thinks
sheโs too young and Grace thinks heโs too grumpy. Grace has never backed down
from a challenge and is determined to see this job through. Grace isnโt going
to let Caine walk all over her. He needs her far more than she needs him and if
he wants to pretend that she belongs on a playground, so be it. Manned with
juice boxes and animal crackers, Grace isnโt afraid to play dirty. Within a day
sheโs got her coworkerโs approval, her new bossโs blood boiling, begging her to
stay.
Grace is a firecracker; sheโs smart, sassy, caring
and confident. She went toe to toe with Caine from the beginning and never
backed down. Caine was her complete opposite being a grump, but he was so sweet
when he was with his daughter. His daughter, Meadow, was adorable and such a
great addition to the series. It was so
cute watching them all together. Grace softened his rough edges and turned him
into the perfect match.
Ms. Madison wrote a
wonderful, heartwarming and enjoyable love story that should not be missed. She
provided a tale rich with love, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, quick witted, humorous and
entertaining. It was wonderful to see some of the characters from the previous
stories in the series make appearances. I highly recommend Mine to Keep.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
